HIKOからの手紙 9周年に寄せて|銀座の小さなセレクトショップより A Letter from HIKO — On Our Ninth Anniversary

It has been nine years since we opened our store in Ginza.
Driven by a single determination not to be defeated by the earthquake, we moved to Tokyo—many in the same trade called it reckless at the time.

HIKO is a small family business run by a father and daughter, with no major capital or sponsors behind us.
Even so, we were gradually introduced by magazines, online media, and TV programs such as NHK’s Salameshi, and little by little, we began to gain familiar faces among our customers.

Our posts on social media are sometimes widely shared, leading new visitors to say they came because they “wanted to see what kind of shop it is.”

“I saw you on Twitter (X).”
“I always enjoy your Threads posts.”
“I found you by chance on Instagram.”

And surprisingly often, we also hear,
“I became interested after reading your blog.”

As Saturday nears, I find myself writing this blog with real sweat on my brow, wondering how fast the week has gone. After posting, I share it by newsletter and LINE, and when customers visit saying, “I saw that bag in your blog,” I feel glad I kept it going.

As we celebrated our ninth anniversary, many familiar and new customers came by to say hello, filling the shop with warmth. Hearing “Shopping feels fun again,” or “There are things only HIKO has,” moved me deeply.

I usually write about our products, but tonight I just wanted to express the gratitude overflowing in my heart.

Just like a fireplace gently warming your hands and cheeks on a cold day,
and a tree’s shade softening the harsh summer sun,
I hope the things we offer can brighten your heart on days that feel heavy.

With that wish, we’ll continue doing our very best to bring you truly good things.

And the reason we can keep this promise
is because of you — our irreplaceable supporter.

From the bottom of my heart,
thank you.
