ステファノリッチ 日本市場における銀座HIKOの今後の方針に関しまして Stefano Ricci – Future Strategy for the Japanese Market by Ginza HIKO

Key Points of This Blog Post:

Moving forward, prices will be adjusted step by step to reflect fair value.

Stefano Ricci ties have faced supply delays over the past six months.

To solve the issue, I traveled to Italy and established a direct partnership with Stefano Ricci headquarters.

At the end of this blog, we have a special event announcement. Be sure to read until the end!

“The way a person responds to a crisis is a true reflection of their character.”

— Words from someone I respect.

For more than six months, Ginza HIKO has experienced an unusual situation where we were unable to receive any new Stefano Ricci ties, despite our long-standing relationship with the brand.

This issue was not limited to our store alone—it affected the entire Japanese market.

For brands like ZILLI, with whom we have a direct partnership, we can communicate directly with local representatives and respond swiftly to any situation.

However, in the case of Stefano Ricci, all distribution in Japan was managed exclusively through an agent, which left us unable to act directly, resulting in long wait times for our customers.

First and foremost, we sincerely apologize to all our valued customers for this inconvenience and for keeping you waiting.

In business, there are principles that must be respected. As long as an agent exists, it is not appropriate to bypass them and seek direct action from Italy.

At Ginza HIKO, we remained patient and consistently requested updates on the progress of resolving the situation swiftly.

However, even after six months, there was little to no progress…

The most important thing is to protect both our customers and the creators.

“For the sake of our customers, we can no longer just wait.”

With that resolve, I made the decision to travel over 20,000 kilometers to Italy.

Before making the journey, I carefully engaged in thorough discussions with Stefano Ricci online.

Then, I visited their showroom in Milan, sitting down at the table to address the issues and discuss the future outlook.

During the discussions with senior management and local representatives, the underlying issues became clear.

For about two hours, we engaged in active conversations on how to ensure long-term stability in delivering products to our customers.

We at Ginza HIKO have established a new partnership with Stefano Ricci for the Japanese market.

As you may already know, in recent years, the depreciation of the yen against the euro, along with rising costs of raw materials, fuel, and labor, have accelerated significantly.

Other luxury brands have responded by implementing substantial price increases, staged over several adjustments.

For example, a bag that cost ¥500,000 five years ago now often exceeds ¥1,000,000.

Amidst these global changes, the prices of Stefano Ricci products in the Japanese market had been adjusted solely by the agent.

In the nine years since we began carrying the brand, there has been only one price increase.

As a result, Stefano Ricci ties sold in Japan were priced lower than in Italy—a highly unusual situation.

Normally, when factoring in tariffs, transportation costs, and other expenses, it is practically impossible for the retail price in Japan to be lower than that in the brand’s home country.

Furthermore, Stefano Ricci is renowned as one of the world’s top luxury menswear brands, boasting exceptional quality and craftsmanship.

However, due to the long-standing fixed pricing in Japan, its ties ended up being significantly cheaper than those of other luxury brands.

The aesthetics and craftsmanship that Stefano Ricci has cultivated since its founding are truly unmatched.

Simply put, the balance between its value and pricing had been significantly distorted.

Stefano Ricci headquarters also recognized this issue, and we reached a mutual understanding that this imbalance was one of the key factors preventing new collections from arriving in Japan for so long.

Moving forward, we will be selecting and ordering new collections directly from Stefano Ricci headquarters.

Additionally, to ensure long-term stable supply, we will gradually adjust the pricing in the Japanese market to reflect fair value.

As mentioned earlier, while other brands have adjusted their prices gradually over several years, Stefano Ricci will undergo a more rapid correction.

To accommodate this shift, we have negotiated with the company to implement a transition period, during which prices will be adjusted step by step.

Accordingly, the prices for each category of new Stefano Ricci ties available at our store will be as follows:

New Price List in GinzaHIKO :

Jacquard & Printed Ties
¥43,000 (tax-excl.) / ¥47,300 (tax-incl.)

Solid Pleated Ties
¥56,000 (tax-excl.) / ¥61,600 (tax-incl.)

Patterned Pleated Ties
¥72,000 (tax-excl.) / ¥79,200 (tax-incl.)

Solid Pleated Tie + Pocket Square Set
¥77,000 (tax-excl.) / ¥84,700 (tax-incl.)

Patterned Pleated Tie + Pocket Square Set
¥100,000 (tax-excl.) / ¥110,000 (tax-incl.)

Patchwork Ties
¥105,000 (tax-excl.) / ¥115,500 (tax-incl.)

For the next year, we plan to sell the new collection of ties at the above prices.
(Please note that the duration may be subject to change.)

According to Stefano Ricci, Ginza HIKO is the only store in Japan that has placed orders for the 2025-26 Fall/Winter and 2026 Spring/Summer collections.

This signifies that the exclusivity of the brand in Japan will be even more prominent moving forward.

Encountering someone with the same tie, or worrying if a gift might already be owned—reducing these moments has always been both our ideal and our mission.

With this new initiative, we are more committed than ever to making that a reality.

「最も大切な事は何か」

Initially, with no clear solution in sight, I found myself wondering, “What should I do?”

However, by returning to the simple question:

“What is the most important thing?”

I was able to focus on thinking independently, taking responsibility, and taking action, which ultimately led to this direct negotiation.

Since there are still items that have been distributed through the agent to various shops and department stores, the Japanese market will temporarily have a mix of products at the old prices and new collections at the revised prices we will be handling.

We are committed to communicating this background clearly and transparently to our customers moving forward.

Now, there is one more achievement that I brought back from this whirlwind business trip.

While negotiating on site, I was able to secure a sample book for the upcoming Fall/Winter ties.

If you place an order now, it will be ready for delivery around August.

Due to scheduling constraints, this will be a limited-time event only until this weekend, exclusively at our physical store.

It’s a rare opportunity to secure your favorite ties from the latest Fall collection ahead of time.

We encourage you to take advantage of this special chance.
