豪雨により九州地方を
中心に大きな災害が起きて
しまいました。
被害に遭われた全ての地域の
皆様に、心よりお見舞い

Earlier this month, heavy rains caused severe disasters mainly in Kyushu, and I would like to extend my heartfelt sympathy to all those affected.
私たち銀座HIKOは、熊本で
創業し、長く熊本の皆様に
育てていただいた店です。
熊本地震を経て銀座に店を
出そうと決意した際にも、
「元気が出るニュースを
ありがとう！」
「応援しとるけん、皆で
頑張りなっせ！」
と温かい声で強く背中を
押してくださったのも、
故郷の皆様でした。
We at Ginza HIKO were founded in Kumamoto and have long been nurtured by its people. When we decided to open our store in Ginza after the Kumamoto earthquake, it was once again the warm voices of our hometown—“Thank you for the uplifting news!” “We’re all cheering for you, keep going!”—that strongly encouraged us.
今、自分たちにできることを
考えたとき
「復興の一助となる活動を
することがせめてものご恩返し
になるのではないか」
と感じています。
その思いを込めて、
薔薇のラペルピンの売上の
一部を寄付するチャリティーを
行います。
As we reflect on what we can do now, we feel that contributing to recovery efforts is the least we can do to give back. With this in mind, we are holding a charity in which a portion of the sales from our handmade rose lapel pins will be donated.

薔薇のラペルピンのルーツ
Roots of the Rose Lapel Pin
薔薇のラペルピンはもともと、
東日本大震災の復興支援を
したいという想いから作り
始めました。
当初は募金を…と考えたの
ですが、「手元に形ある何かが
残れば、それを見るたびに
また被災地の方に心を寄せる
きっかけになるのではないか」
と思い至ったのです。
寄付をしたい、募金をしたい、
そんなあたたかい心を持つ
方々に
ラペルピンを身に着けて
出かける際に鏡を見て心が
華やいだり、
誰かに
「素敵な薔薇ですね」と声を
かけられてお互いが笑顔に
なったり、
そんな優しいひと時も
添えてお渡ししたくて。
このたびの豪雨災害に
おいても、きっと多くの方が
「被災された方のために
何かしたい」と感じておられる
のではないでしょうか。
The rose lapel pin was first created to support recovery after the Great East Japan Earthquake. We believed that having something tangible would remind people to keep their thoughts with those affected, while also bringing moments of joy and connection. Today, we continue this spirit for the recent disaster.

力になりたい、という想いが

今回のチャリティーに合わせ、
3つの新色を制作しました。
上京して9年経つ今も、
目を閉じれば鮮やかに浮かぶ
故郷の光景。
その風景を形にした品々です。
We hold a heartfelt wish to give back, even in some small way, to the hometown that has nurtured us.
For this charity, we created three new colors.
Though nine years have passed since moving to Tokyo, the vivid scenes of our hometown still appear when we close our eyes—these lapel pins embody those landscapes.

Charcoal gray reminiscent of the solid presence of stone walls. The shades of the petals have been finely adjusted to capture the texture of stone.

熊本の魅力を伝えるために
To Share the Charm of Kumamoto
今回のチャリティーの始まりに
際し、ただ寄付を募るだけ
ではなく、一番の恩返しは
「熊本に行ってみたい」
「熊本に行ってみよう」と思って
くださる方が増えることだと
考えました。
At the start of this charity, we felt that the greatest way to give back is not merely to ask for donations, but to inspire more people to say, “I want to visit Kumamoto” or “Let’s go to Kumamoto.”
思い立ったが吉日――
そんなわたくしの性格もあり、
「お写真を募集して週末の
ブログに掲載しよう！」
と閃いてから更新まで、
わずか3日間という短い
準備期間だったのですが、
呼びかけに答えて熊本の
お客様や友人たちから
多くの素晴らしいお写真が
寄せられました。
この場を借りて、
ご協力下さった皆様に
心より御礼申し上げます。
Seizing the moment — that’s very much my nature.
So when the idea struck me — “Let’s collect photos and feature them in this weekend’s blog!” — only three short days passed from the thought to publication.
Yet in that brief time, many wonderful photos arrived from our customers and friends in Kumamoto, answering the call.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who kindly contributed.

すすきが揺れる秋の阿蘇。

個人のFacebookで写真を
募集した際、一番に
手を上げてくれたのは
高校時代からの友人
早田 類 さんでした。
ヴィオラ奏者としてヨーロッパで
長く活躍し、
現在は大阪交響楽団で
首席奏者を務めています。
卒業してからもずっと
ご縁が続いていて、東京に
来た時には顔を出して
くれることも。
When I called for photos on my personal Facebook,
the very first to raise her hand was my high school friend, Rui Wasada.
She has had a long career in Europe as a viola player and now serves
as Principal Violist with the Osaka Symphony Orchestra.
Even after graduation, our bond has remained strong,
and whenever she comes to Tokyo, she often drops by to see me.

西川文さんは、早田類さんと
同じく高校時代からの友人
です。
文さんは西川歯科医院の
院長であり、九州動物学院の
講師も務めています。
彼女のSNSの写真にいつも
見惚れていて、特に毎回
感銘を受けているのが青の
美しさ！
今回、「アルバムから好きな
写真を使って！」と言って
貰えたので遠慮なくセレクト
させていただきました。
Aya Nishikawa has also been a dear friend of mine since high school, just like Rui Wasada.
She is the director of Nishikawa Dental Clinic and also teaches at Kyushu Animal Academy.
I am always captivated by the photos she shares on social media—especially the striking beauty of the color blue that shines through each time.
This time, she kindly told me, “Feel free to use any photos from my album!” So I gratefully selected some without hesitation.

続きまして、
アデル・カーズ株式会社様が
所蔵しておられるクラシックカー
と熊本の名所の数々を。
「車のナンバーを隠した方が
良いですか？」とお尋ねした
ところ、
「車の名称や通称番号、
製造年だから大丈夫！」
とのこと。
ちなみにお写真を送って
下さった方はわたくしの高校の
大先輩です。（期せずして
高校関係のご縁が続きました）
Here we continue with a collection of classic cars owned by Adel Cars Co., Ltd., beautifully set against the famous sights of Kumamoto.
When I asked whether the license plates should be hidden, they kindly explained,
“It’s just the model name, serial number, and year of manufacture, so no problem at all!”
Incidentally, the person who kindly sent me these photos is a senior from my high school days.
(Unexpectedly, this charity project has brought together many ties from my school years!)

今里暁子さんは丁度10年ほど
前からご縁が続いている素敵な
方で、a.design – JAPANの
Webプロデューサーとして、
また現在は中小企業庁
佐賀県よろず支援拠点などでも
幅広く活躍しておられます。
上京の折にご家族と御来店
くださることも。
暁子さんも「アルバムから
選んでいいですよ！」と仰って
いただいたのでセレクト
させて頂きました。
Akiko Imazato is a wonderful person with whom I have had the pleasure of staying connected for about ten years. She has worked as a web producer at a.design – JAPAN and is now also active at the Saga Prefecture Yorozu Support Center under the Small and Medium Enterprise Agency, among other fields.
When she comes to Tokyo, she sometimes visits our shop with her family. She kindly told me, “Please feel free to choose from my album!”—so I happily made a selection.
阿蘇のカルデラ（火山活動に
よってできた大きなくぼみ）は
活火山の中で世界最大規模。
上の一枚や、先述の類さん、
文さんの写真の中に映っている
田園風景もそのカルデラの一部
です。
スケールがとにかく大きいのです。
The Aso caldera—a vast depression formed by volcanic activity—is one of the largest of its kind among active volcanoes in the world. The rural landscapes seen in the photo above, as well as in the pictures by Rui and Aya, are also part of this caldera. Its scale is truly immense.

方で、弊社が熊本時代に
営業しておりました頃は徒歩で
お伺いできるほどのご近所様
でした。
弊社スタッフが飛び込みで
営業に伺って以来のご縁で、
わたくしどもが銀座に店を
移した今も、上京の折に
お顔を見せて下さっています。
先生も「アルバムからどうぞ！」
とのことでしたので、雄大な
自然を背景に離着陸を
撮影できる「あそ熊本空港」
でのショットをお借りしました。
We are pleased to share photographs from Mr. Hiroki Shimizutani, representative of Shimizutani Law & Accounting Office. Our connection dates back to our Kumamoto days, and he still visits us in Ginza when in Tokyo.
With his kind permission, we selected a dynamic shot at Aso Kumamoto Airport, where aircraft take off and land against the backdrop of Kumamoto’s vast natural scenery.

最後は、人吉球磨地方の
プロのカメラマン、ハマさん。
寺社仏閣の風景や、
その土地に伝わる文化や
伝承といったところまで
掘り下げて後世に残る一枚を
撮っておられる方です。
かと思うと、ポップカルチャーへの
解像度も高くこんな活動も。
Lastly, we have Hama-san, a professional photographer from the Hitoyoshi-Kuma region. He captures temples, shrines, landscapes, and the traditions and folklore of the area—images meant to be preserved for future generations. At the same time, he also has a deep appreciation for pop culture, engaging in projects like this one.
ハマさんも10年ほど交流が
あるのですが、直接お会い
したのは恐らく3回くらい？
だったかと。（もっと多かったら
申し訳ない）
なのですが、
こういうチャリティーをやりたい、
という呼びかけに、たくさんの
データが入った貴重なアルバムを
どかん！と送って下さり
「なにか使えるものがあれば」
と。（10枚20枚の量では
ないのです…。）
I’ve known Hama-san for about ten years, though we’ve probably only met in person three times or so (apologies if it was more!). Even so, when I reached out about this charity project, he generously sent over an entire album full of precious works—far more than just ten or twenty shots—saying, “Please use whatever might be helpful.”
わたくしどもを信頼して
下さっているということ、
そして「熊本のために」
という郷土への愛をとても
強く感じました。
It made me feel his trust in us, and above all, his deep love for Kumamoto.
誰もいないお堂に一晩
籠って、仏像に朝日が差す
一瞬の一枚を写し取る…
そんなこともされている方
なのです。そんなハマさんの
渾身の写真が入った
アルバムです。
いや、選べませんって。
これは選べませんって。
と、唸りながらお写真を一枚
一枚拝見しました。
どれも素晴らしくて、素人の
わたくしが「これを」と気軽に
選んでいい物ではないのですが
個人的にハマさんの写真の
静と動、闇と光のコントラストが
「刺さる」のでそうした目線で
セレクトさせて頂きました。
He is the kind of photographer who would spend an entire night alone in a silent temple, waiting for that fleeting moment when the morning sun illuminates a Buddha statue.
This album is filled with such masterful works by Hama-san.
And honestly—there’s no way to “choose.”
It was impossible to choose.
I went through the photos one by one, groaning in admiration.
Every single piece was remarkable, far beyond what an amateur like myself could casually select.
Yet, personally, I was deeply moved by the way Hama-san captures contrasts—stillness and motion, darkness and light—so I selected with that in mind.

こちらのブログでは
「ひと」を選ばせて頂きました。
I decided to feature “people” in this blog, though there were also many photos of temples and statues.
