熊本で「郷土のデパート」として
親しまれている鶴屋百貨店様の
外商催事「鶴翔会」に、今回も
お招きいただきました。
今年の鶴翔会は
3/20金～3/22日までの
開催で、
本ブログは初日を終えた
金曜日の夜、ホテルで
パソコンに向かって綴って
おります。
We are honored to be invited once again to Kakushokai, Tsuruya Department Store’s exclusive customer event in Kumamoto.
This year’s event runs from March 20 to 22, and I am writing this from the hotel on the evening of the first day.
前日の木曜日にいつもの
ように4時起きで羽田へ
向かい、一路熊本へ。
The day before, I woke at 4 a.m. as usual, headed to Haneda, and flew straight to Kumamoto.
10年前銀座に店を出すため
熊本を離れた時とは違う、
空から見る故郷の眺めに、
こみ上げる想いがございます。
Seeing my hometown from the sky now brings feelings very different from when I left Kumamoto 10 years ago to open our store in Ginza.
またこうして鶴翔会にお呼び
いただけたこと、また故郷の
皆様にお会いできるということ
への喜びだけでなく、
自分たちがやってきたことは
熊本の皆様にとって
どのような意味、意義を持つ
ものだったのだろうかという
自問自答もあります。
Being invited to Kakushokai once again and having the chance to see everyone in my hometown fills me with joy, but it also leads me to reflect on what our journey has truly meant to the people of Kumamoto.
昔からの大切な友人が今回も
助っ人として来てくれたのですが
彼女は「まずは空港まで迎えに
いきます！」と声をかけてくれて
スムーズに現場に入ることが
できました。
A dear old friend came to help again this time, and thanks to her kind offer to pick me up at the airport, I was able to head smoothly to the venue.
たくさんの名品を銀座から
お送りしていたので、それらを
丁寧に箱から出し陳列して
いきます。
「どの棚に何を並べるか」
「どの角度で商品を見せるか」
といったことはやはり当日
現場に行かねば調整が
できません。
急遽、やっぱりここに追加で
什器を…という事態も
起きるのですが、いつも
鶴屋のご担当者様や
什器設営の会社の方々が
迅速にご対応くださっています。
We had sent many exceptional pieces from Ginza, and carefully unpacked and displayed each one on site.
Deciding what goes on which shelf, and how each item should be angled, is something that can only be adjusted in person on the day.
There are always last-minute changes, such as needing extra fixtures, but the Tsuruya team and the display staff are consistently quick and helpful in responding.
また3回目の参加ということも
あり、「あら、HIKOさん！」と
声をかけてくださる外商の方も
増えてきました。
「今回、ちょっとご案内したい
お客様がいらっしゃるので
後ほどよろしくお願いします！」
と、お立ち寄り下さる方も
いらっしゃり、初めて参加
させていただいた時と
見える景色が変わって
きたことを体感しています。
As this is now our third time taking part, more and more personal shoppers have begun greeting us with, “Oh, HIKO!”
Some also stopped by to say, “I have a client I’d like to introduce to you later,” which made me feel how much the view has changed since our very first participation.
設営を終えて鶴屋様を
出るころにはすっかり
夕暮れに。橋の上からの
マジックアワー(黄昏時)の
眺めをしばし楽しむ
ひとときでした。
By the time we finished setting up and left Tsuruya, dusk had already fallen.
For a moment, I paused on the bridge to enjoy the view in the magic hour light.
さて初日の今日は、と
言いますと前回、前々回と
来てくださったお客様の
ご来場あり、まさかまさかの
ご縁があった方のお立ち寄り
あり、お客様がお知り合いの
方をお連れくださる新しい
出会いもあり、とても充実した
一日でございました。
As for the first day, it was a deeply fulfilling one, with returning customers from past years, unexpected visits from familiar faces, and new encounters through guests introduced by our clients.
ご多忙の中駆けつけてくださった
吉本様。
ご来店くださった方の
中には、40年前の創業
当時からご愛顧くださっている
方々も多く、涙ながらの
再会となることも少なくありません。
Among our visitors were many who have supported us since our founding 40 years ago, and some reunions were deeply emotional, even bringing tears.
わたくしがまだ幼稚園くらいの
頃から母方の実家と交流を
持ってくださっていた方々の
ご来店は特に驚きでした。
偶然、ある外商の方が
「HIKOさんも是非ご覧ください」
と声をおかけくださって、
立ち話している中で母の名が
出て、「あなたが娘さん？！」
と。
「せっかくのご縁だから」と
お買い物もしていただき、
嬉しくてありがたくて。
One of the biggest surprises was meeting people who had known my mother’s family since I was still in kindergarten.
By chance, a personal shopper invited me into the conversation, and when my mother’s name came up, they exclaimed, “You’re her daughter?!”
They even made a purchase, saying, “Since this is such a special connection,” and I felt truly grateful.
そしてその方をお連れくださった
外商の方は、今期からその
お客様のご担当から移動と
なっておられたのですが
それでも「HIKOさんにお繋ぎ
できてうれしい！」と。
お寄せくださった言葉の
あたたかさに思わず涙が
出そうになりました。
The personal shopper who introduced her had actually been reassigned this season, yet still said, “I’m so happy I could connect you with HIKO.”
The warmth of those words nearly brought me to tears.
せっかくお越しくださる方との
ひとときを大切にしたくて、
毎回昼休憩を取らず
売り場にずっと立っています。
一日が終わるころには足が
まさに棒のようになりますが
こうして今日という日を
振り返ると、手伝ってくれる
友人やご担当者の方々、
外商の皆様、お忙しい中
駆けつけてくださったお客様…
様々な方がお寄せくださる
想いが紡がれ、またその
紡がれた糸が新たなご縁を
手繰り寄せてくれていることを
強く感じました。
なんとあたたかく、
なんとやさしく、
なんと力強い絆でしょうか。
Wanting to make the most of every moment with those who come to see us, I stay on the floor all day without taking a lunch break.
By the end of the day, my legs are exhausted, but looking back, I feel deeply how the kindness of friends, staff, personal shoppers, and customers has come together to create new connections.
How warm, how gentle, and how powerful those bonds truly are.
いただいたものへの
恩返しは、「まっすぐに、
誠実に働くこと」しか
思いつかない我が身です。
残りの日程も全力で
取り組みます。
The only way I know to repay such kindness is to keep working with honesty and all my heart.
I will give my very best for the rest of the event.
