It’s already been a week since I came to Italy.
After finishing work in Milan, I headed to Florence early the next morning.

Milan Central Station has been depicted by many artists. I love this place.

I went to Pitti Uomo.

At Pitti Uomo, we deepened relationships with existing business partners and sought out new ones.

This time we I visited the other places.

The place I visited was a five-star hotel in Florence.
There, I was reunited with some nostalgic artworks and had new encounters with their creators.

Nobles and wealthy individuals abroad value books as important assets that are treated with great respect and handed down through generations.
Such books are naturally the complete opposite of mass-produced items.
They are not intended to be casually carried around but are envisioned to be displayed with a sense of grandeur in private libraries of estates or the offices of CEOs.
(In some cases, they are strictly kept under lock and key and never taken outside.)

In Italy, there is a company that specializes in creating such special books, and three years ago, through a certain connection, we had the opportunity to display books made by this company in our store for a limited time.
This time, through the agency of TecknoMonster, we were invited to visit because the book company is holding an event at a hotel, and we decided to attend.

The books cover various genres, such as the history of Lamborghini, horses’ journey with humanity, and the history of Rome.

Each book, weighing nearly 10 kilograms, is as beautiful as a work of art in itself, overflowing with love and respect for its theme. They are positioned as tools to “leave behind history and stories that should be passed down,” paying homage to the past, to be read, learned from, and enjoyed in the present, and ultimately preserved for the future. The books themselves are like cultural heritage.

Hearing directly from Mr. Dino about the philosophy and techniques behind their creation deepened our understanding significantly compared to three years ago. Although books are outside our usual expertise, we learned that their nature changes depending on purpose and occasion, much like fashion. Understanding the creators’ intentions firsthand is very important.

While books are not our primary area of expertise, we learned that, much like fashion, their nature changes depending on the purpose and the occasion.
Understanding the creators’ intentions firsthand is indeed very important.
We also reaffirmed our mission to act as a “cultural bridge” by sharing what we have gained with all of you.
We have been invited to see the manufacturing site in Rome next time, and we are already looking forward to next year’s business trip.
