モスグリーンのヴィキューナの
大判ストールでございます。
以前綴っておりました通り、
ヴィキューナ(ビクーニャ、
ビクーナ、ビキューナとも呼ばれ
ます)はラクダ科の動物でその毛は
「高級」というイメージが強い
カシミヤ山羊(ヤギ)よりも細く
柔らか。
This is a large moss green vicuña stole.
As previously mentioned, vicuña (also known as vicuna or vicugna) is an animal of the camelid family, and its wool is finer and softer than that of cashmere goats, which are often associated with luxury.
羊のように人の手で育てる事が
できない上、乱獲を防ぐ為に
ペルーなどの国単位で毛の
刈り取りが2年に1度と定められて
います。
しかも1度に刈り取りが許される
のは1頭あたりわずか300グラム
前後。製毛工程を経るとさらに
減り、最終的には150グラムほど
になるのだとか。
このようにヴィキューナの毛を
使った製品が市場に流通する
量はごく僅かで、
「実物を見たことが無い」
「存在すら知らない」という方も
珍しくありません。
Vicuñas cannot be bred like sheep, and to prevent overhunting, countries like Peru only allow shearing once every two years. Moreover, only about 300 grams can be sheared per animal at a time, and after processing, this amount reduces to about 150 grams. Due to these factors, vicuña products are extremely rare in the market, and many people have never seen them or even heard of them.
「ヴィキューナね、持ってるよ！」
と仰る方であっても、その
大半はキャメルブラウンか、
黒のアイテム。
“Vicuña? Yes, I own one!”
Even those who own vicuña items mostly have camel brown or black ones. The most standard color is camel brown (a light brown color), which is the natural color of the vicuña, followed by black, which is dyed.
流通量において、ヴィキューナの
個体そのものの色であるキャメル
ブラウン(明るめの茶)は最も
スタンダードで、次いでそれを
染めた黒、と続きます。
今回のモスグリーンは、その色に
美しく染めるには色素が薄い毛
(おなか側の面積が狭い部分)を
使わねばならず、ただでさえ
採取量が少ない中からさらに
厳選せねばなりません。
実際にわたくしどもが発注して
から納品されるまで2年ほど
費やしました。
長く待った甲斐があり
高い品格と品質、そして
「脱・無難」な美しい一枚が
出来上がったのです。
This moss green stole, however, requires using lighter-colored wool (the small area on the belly) to achieve the beautiful dye. This makes it even rarer, as it takes a long time to procure. It took about two years from the time we placed the order until it was delivered.
It was worth the wait, as we now have a piece that is not only of high quality and elegance but also unique and beautiful.
大きさは70cm×200cm。
ショールのように羽織れる
大判サイズですが、極薄のため
触れても「そこに何もない」
かのような錯覚を起こす
軽さと柔らかさです。
The size is 70 cm by 200 cm. It is a large size that can be worn like a shawl, but because it is extremely thin, it feels so light and soft that you might forget it’s there.
性別、年齢、洋装和装を問わず
様々な場面でお召し頂ける一点
に仕上がっております。

その極上の肌触りと美しさ、
そして希少性の高さから
「神の繊維」とも呼ばれている
ヴィキューナはワシントン条約
(絶滅の恐れのある野生動植物の
種の国際取引に関する条約)の
最高ランクに登録されており、
輸出入についても厳しく制限
されています。
日本の場合は輸入時に経済産業省
大臣の印が入った許可証を
取らねばならず、政府に公式に
認められた機関で発行される
登録票を得ることも必須です。
売買や譲渡にて持ち主が変われば
届け出も出さなくてはなりません。
The vicuña, often called “the fiber of the gods” for its exquisite touch, beauty, and rarity, is registered under the highest rank of the Washington Convention (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora). Its import and export are strictly regulated.
In Japan, an import permit with the seal of the Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry is required, and a registration card issued by an officially recognized organization is also mandatory. If the ownership changes through sales or transfer, a report must be submitted.
さらに環境省の方いわく、
オンラインストアで
ヴィキューナ製品を販売する
にはその登録票の写真も
商品と共に表示する事が
義務付けられています。
Furthermore, according to the Ministry of the Environment, when selling vicuña products online, a photo of the registration card must be displayed along with the product.
こうして非常に厳しい手続きも
必要となるため、実物を店頭や
オンラインストアで常時販売
しているショップというのは
稀であるのが現実です。
希少性の高さ、品質の高さを
考えればこの大判サイズにして
64万円弱(税込)というお値段は
驚くべきものではないでしょうか。
誰もが知るブランドのタグが
付けばさぞや…という所です。
(なお、卸元の方いわく今後この
モスグリーンの受注を受けるか
どうかは定かではなく、
キャメルや黒などの色についても
新しくお作りするお品からは
価格が上がります、との事。)
Due to these stringent procedures, it is rare to find shops that always have vicuña products available both in-store and online.
Considering its rarity and quality, the price of just under 640,000 yen (including tax) for this large stole is not surprising. (If it bore the tag of a well-known brand, it would be priced even higher.)
According to the wholesaler, it is uncertain whether they will accept orders for this moss green color in the future, and the prices for new orders of camel brown or black will also increase.
